A simpler Karmly alternative for small agencies

Compare TymTrack with Karmly Workforce for small AU/NZ agencies: timesheets, approvals, invoicing, published pricing and the important payroll difference.

A small agency may need a clear path from contractor hours to approval and a client invoice, without replacing its payroll system. TymTrack focuses on that narrower workflow. Karmly Workforce covers more of a labour-hire operation, including payroll. The right choice depends on what you need to keep together, not which product has the longest feature list.

When the narrower option makes sense

TymTrack is worth considering if your payroll is already handled elsewhere and your immediate problem is collecting accurate hours, getting them reviewed and turning approved billable time into invoices. Set up clients and tasks, record assignment pay and bill rates, and give each contractor a reporting line. Managers review their team’s submitted weeks; admins handle client invoices.

You can start with approved hours only when invoicing. If an admin deliberately includes submitted or draft hours, those invoice lines are marked pending approval. That is not the same as approving a timesheet or running payroll. For a small agency, keeping that boundary explicit helps avoid confusing a client billing decision with a wage-payment decision.

When Karmly may be the better fit

If you want worker payments, statutory payroll reporting and labour-hire operations in one product, Karmly Workforce’s published scope is broader. TymTrack does not replace that payroll functionality. Ask Karmly to demonstrate your worker types, pay arrangements, approval process and country-specific requirements before deciding.

There is no claim here that Karmly is difficult to use, more expensive or unsuitable for small teams. We have not tested a customer deployment or obtained a quote. Compare the work involved in your own workflow and the actual quote, rather than assuming a larger feature set is either better or worse.

A practical comparison checklist

  • Walk a real contractor week through entry, corrections and approval.
  • Check whether the client approver needs an account, and who can view pay versus bill rates.
  • Compare the monthly invoice output with your client’s requirements.
  • Ask which payroll functions are native and which need another service.
  • Compare total cost for your current team and your next likely size, including setup and plan limits.

For TymTrack’s current scope, see features and AUD pricing. You can start with the free Solo plan before moving a wider team.
